Silane S550 is amino silane always used in the process of silanization,the functionalization of surfaces with alkoxy silane molecules. The silicon-containing portion of the molecule provides strong bonding to substrates.The primary amino functional reacts with a wild array of thermoset,thermoplastic and elastomeric materials.
This product can be used for different areas.I will show you one by one.
1.Used with PDMS(polydimethylsiloxane)
Silane S550 is used to covalently bond thermoplastics to polydimethylsiloxane.Thermoplastics are treated with oxygen plasma to functionalize surface molecules,and subsequently coated with an aqueous 1% by volume silane S550 solution.Oxygen plasma can treat PDMS. PDMS also can be placed in contact with functionalized thermoplastic surface.Within 2 mins it will be stable covalent bond form.
2.Used with cell cultures
Silane S550 functionalized surfaces have been shown to be nontoxic to embrynic rat cardiomyoctes in vitro.If we evalute toxicity to other cell types in extended culture,it will need further expermientation.
3.Used for coating,adhesives and sealants
Silane S550 is a good adhesion promoter in acylic coatings,sealant and adhesives.With urethane,polysulfide,epoxy,nitrile,RTV silicones, sealants and phenolic adhesives,silane S550 can improve pigment dispersion and maximizes adhesion to glass,steel and aluminum.
4.Used for mineral-filled and resin systems.
Silane S550 maximizes physical and electrical properties of mineral -filled phenolic,polyamides,polybutylene terephthalate,epoxies and host of other thermoset and thermoplastic composites.It can be improved with filler wetting and dispersibility in the polymer matrix.
5.Used for glass fiber and mineral wool insulation
Silane S550 can be used as phenolic resin binder additive.It can impart moisture resistance,also can allow recovery after compression.
6.Used for glass reinforced resin systems
Silane S550 can enhance flexural,compressive and interlatminar shear strengths before and after exposure to humidity in glass reinforced thermosets. Silane S550 can improve wet electrical properties.When you use silane S550,glass reinforced thermoplastics,polyamides,polycarbonates and polyesters will increased tensile and flexural strengths before or after wet exposure.
7.Used for foundry applications
Silane S550 can strengthen bond between foundry sand and phenolic binder in shell molding.
