BOPP film is a kind of printing basis material. In order to make the ink adhere to the film, a side of the BOPP film need to be Corona Treatment, then cover with ink. The major parts of gravure printing ink are resin, pigment, solvent, additives etc... 

 

Most of gravure printing ink is volatilize drying ink ,so the principle of ink formulation is that the gravure printing ink is thick but not sticky, also having thixotropic property. Therefore the ink can fill in the ink-holding cup of rotogravure copper cylinder easily ,as well as the figure will not spread large and dry soon after printing. As a disperse system, the characteristics of ink and printability is decided by the matching of resin, pigment, solvent, additives. 

 

Resin in ink combines the pigment,solvent, additive together, forming a good disperse fluid. Resin makes the surface of substrate with a certain color and surface character, such as gloss. 

So resin brings a certain viscosity,fluidity, and yield value to ink, determines the drying rate and give ink a certain physical property (such as gloss, rub resistance etc).Resin should have enough solubility and good  release property, in order to make the ink have good fluidity,stability and fast fixed. Meanwhile, the resin should have a high melting point, viscosity and cohesion. And the resin demanded having strong adhesion on the substrate surface,the film formed on the surface of the ink is high – strength, having good acid and alkali resistance, chemicals resistance and light fastness, having a certain luster and flexibility ,and have a good compatibility with pigment particles .
