2. Nano-boron melting point can reach high up to 2350 ℃, boiling point ≥ 3500 ℃, hardness is 9.3, flexural strength ≥ 400Mpa;
3. The product can not react with acid and alkali, with high chemical potential, which is one of the most stable substances to acid. and also has good quality of high temperature, high strength, high grinding efficiency, high hardness, high elastic modulus, strong wear-resistance and good self-lubrication;
4. Its ability to absorb neutrons without forming long lived radionuclide makes the material attractive as an absorbent for neutron radiation arising in nuclear power plants. Nuclear applications of boron carbide include shielding, control rod and shut down pellets. Within control rods, boron carbide is often powdered, to increase its surface area.
